expense@work Selected as New System to Manage MP's Expense Claims

One aspect of MP's working lives is claiming their expenses. expense@work has been selected by IPSA (the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority) as the new system to manage MP's claims.

MP's have now received their introduction and training.

expense@work has been selected for the following reasons:

• Budget Control - One of the most important functional requirements in this implementation was the ability to set and enforce Expense Policies and Budgetary Limits on expenditure by category type. As you will know, this is becoming increasingly important in Private Sector organisations also.
• Expense Type Restriction - The ability to control which Expense Types were available to a Member based on eligibility criteria (such as constituency or the status of dependants). Many private sector clients have the same type of requirements (for example based on Seniority or Location).
• Workflow and Authorisation - Claims can be reviewed and authorised by many individuals based on specific criteria. expense@work allows for multiple Authorisers (including a new Random Authoriser feature), and line by line rejection or approval.
• Multiple Form Types - expense@work is being used not only for claim submission but additionally to allow Members to register their specific circumstances as mandated by the new IPSA Expenses Rules.
• Reporting - The nature of this implementation and particularly the requirements around transparency and access to information, required a very flexible reporting engine which could publish information within the expense@work application but additionally export data to external public facing reporting systems.
